— Tough Enough —

October 2009

Tough Enough is a fifteen-minute podcast created by Christopher Marianetti and Jeremy Thal, edited from recordings of a short project at Institute for Music and Neurological Functionat Beth Abraham Hospital in the Bronx, as part of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute Musical Connections program. The piece documents Jeremy Deloit, a patient at Beth Abe.

When we met Jeremy he had just finished writing a new song with music therapist David Ramsey. We decided to produce a recording of the new song with several guest artists from Carnegie Hall, and we invited Jeremy to lead the recording and production process. Our podcast documents this production process and incorporates it with interviews of Jeremy, two other pyscially impaired Beth Abraham residents (Allessandro and Aisha), and sounds collected during our time at the hospital. Everything you hear in this podcast was recorded on-site at Beth Abraham Hospital. Featuring: Claire Bryant, Cello, and Cem Duroz, guitar. Click on the player below.
