Telephenesis is on an online space for musical collaboration. It’s modeled after the children’s game of telephone, where a phrase gets whispered and subsequently transformed across a circle of people. Here, instead of words, music is mimicked and collaborations exist as connected systems, forming playable sound constellations. The goal being to transform what came before; the challenge to maintain a perceivable thread. As the network grows a community of artists create new representations of interconnected musical ideas. I developed this project with Cameron Steele out of a series of musical games we used to play.
